Deck import

Print an MTGO decklist as a registration sheet

Paste the MTGO export and download a printable, fillable deck registration sheet PDF in the official layout. Free, no account.

Magic Online exports decks as .dek files (XML) or as plain text with the sideboard after a blank line. Decklist.gg reads both, so a league deck you tuned online can become a paper registration sheet for Modern, Legacy, Vintage, Pauper or Commander in a minute.

Exporting from MTGO

  • In the Collection or deck editor right-click the deck and choose Export; save as .dek (XML) or .txt.
  • Open the saved file in any text editor, select all and copy. For .dek files paste the whole XML; the card names and quantities are read from it.

How to do it

  1. Export the deck from Magic Online as .dek or .txt, open the file and copy its contents.
  2. Open the deck builder and select the format first (the export does not carry it, and it decides where a commander goes). Then click Import decklist, switch to Paste text, paste the list and click Import. Section headers, set codes and collector numbers are understood and stripped.
  3. Check the flagged cards (unknown names or cards not legal in the format), add your name and the event, and download the PDF.

What carries over

  • Main deck and sideboard, including from the .dek XML sideboard flag.
  • Text exports with the sideboard after a blank line are split the same way.
  • For Commander, select the format before pasting: the 1-card sideboard MTGO exports then becomes the commander. Changing the format afterwards does not move it.

Good to know

  • MTGO does not export the format, so select it in the deck builder before pasting.
  • Split and double-faced cards use their full names on MTGO; the database matches them and prints the official name.

Frequently asked questions

Can I paste a .dek file directly?

Yes. Paste the XML text of the .dek file into the Paste text tab. Each Cards element becomes a line, and the Sideboard attribute decides the section.
