Magic: The Gathering

MTG Deck Registration Sheet

A free, printable deck registration sheet for any Magic: The Gathering format, filled in from your decklist and ready to hand to the judge.

What is a deck registration sheet?

A deck registration sheet, usually just called a decklist, is the form you hand to tournament staff at a Magic: The Gathering event before the first round. It records your name, the event, the date and every card in your main deck and sideboard with a quantity next to each one. Judges use it to check that the deck you are playing is the deck you registered, and to resolve disputes about a card's legality.

Wizards of the Coast publishes the sheet as a one-page PDF with 42 numbered main-deck lines and 15 sideboard lines. It works well for a 60-card deck and poorly for anything larger, which is where a tool that fills it in for you and adds pages when needed earns its keep.

What goes on the sheet

  • Player: first name, last name, and the first letter of your last name in the box used to file the sheets.
  • Event: the tournament name, the date and the location.
  • Deck: an optional deck name and the deck's designer.
  • Main deck: one line per distinct card with its quantity, written with the full English card name, plus the total number of cards.
  • Sideboard: the same, in its own section, plus the sideboard total.

Decklist.gg fills every one of these fields from the deck builder and leaves them editable in the PDF. For what to write in each box and what judges check, read the guide to filling out a deck registration sheet.

When you need one

Any event run at Competitive or Professional Rules Enforcement Level requires a registered decklist: Regional Championship Qualifiers, Store Championships, MagicCon opens, Grand Opens and most larger independent tournaments. Many stores also collect lists at Friday Night Magic when prizes are on the line, and Commander events with a prize pool increasingly do the same. If the event page says "decklists required", bring one printed or have the PDF ready on your phone.

Deck registration sheets by format

Each page below opens the deck builder with the format selected and explains how the sheet handles that format's deck size, command zone and sideboard.

Start from a decklist you already have

Paste a link from Spellbinder, MTGGoldfish, MTGTop8 or Melee and the deck is imported with its sections and format. Moxfield and MTGDecks.net block automated requests, so copy their plain-text export instead; it pastes straight into the import dialog, as does text exported from MTG Arena, MTGO or any other site. The deck import guide covers every supported source; the pages below walk through one each.

How Decklist.gg fills the sheet

  1. Paste, import or type your decklist and pick the format.
  2. Every card is checked against the Spellbinder card database for spelling, format legality and copy limits.
  3. Add your name, the event and the date.
  4. Download the filled PDF, print it, or copy a share link that reopens the finished sheet anywhere.

Your decklist is not stored on our servers: card names are checked against the card database as you type, the PDF is built in your browser, and share links carry the list in the URL itself. Organizers can also build prefilled links for their events.

Frequently asked questions

What is a deck registration sheet?

It is the form you hand to tournament staff before round one of a Magic: The Gathering event. It lists your name, the event and every card in your main deck and sideboard with quantities, so judges can check your deck against it during the tournament. Players usually call it a decklist.

Is there a Commander deck registration sheet?

The official sheet has 42 main-deck lines, which is not enough for a 100-card singleton deck. Decklist.gg uses the same form and continues the list onto a second page, marked "Continued on page 2", with the commander printed first. See the Commander deck registration sheet page.

Can I print a decklist from Moxfield, MTG Arena or MTGO?

Yes. Paste a Spellbinder, MTGGoldfish, MTGTop8 or Melee link, or paste the text that Moxfield, MTGDecks, MTG Arena and MTGO export, and the cards land in the right sections. The deck import guide lists every supported source and text format.

Do I need a DCI or Wizards Account number?

No. The current official sheet has no DCI number field; your first and last name, the event and the date identify your list. Some organizers add a player number at the table, and the PDF fields stay editable for that.

Do card names have to be in English?

Tournament rules require full English card names on the registration sheet. Decklist.gg looks every card up in the Spellbinder card database and prints the official English name, including for split and double-faced cards.

Can I fill it out on my phone?

Yes. The deck builder and the PDF preview work on phones and tablets, and the share link reopens the finished sheet on any device so you can print it at the venue or email it to the organizer.
