Brawl on MTG Arena (formerly Historic Brawl) is a 100-card singleton format with a commander. It is played digitally, but community tournaments ask for a written decklist, and a 100-card list fits across two pages of the sheet.
Brawl deck requirements
- Deck size: 100 cards including the commander and no sideboard.
- Copies: One copy of each card except basic lands (and cards that say otherwise).
- Command zone: One commander, listed first on the sheet.
- Legality: Every card is checked against the Brawl legality list in the Spellbinder card database. Banned, restricted and not-yet-legal cards are flagged with a warning next to the card.
How the sheet is filled
The official deck registration sheet was designed for 60-card decks: 42 main-deck lines and 15 sideboard lines on one page. A Brawl deck lists far more different cards than that, so Decklist.gg prints the first 40 cards on page 1, marks it "Continued on page 2" and carries the rest onto as many pages as it takes. The command zone prints at the top of the list, the sideboard section is left blank, and the main-deck total counts every card including the command zone.
Every page is a real PDF form: the player, event and card fields stay editable in Adobe Reader, Preview and most browsers, so you can fix a typo after downloading without regenerating the sheet.
How to make a Brawl registration sheet
- Open the deck builder with Brawl selected, then paste your list, import it from Spellbinder, MTGGoldfish, MTGTop8 or Melee, paste a Moxfield, MTGDecks, Arena or MTGO export, or type the cards with autocomplete.
- Fix anything flagged: unknown names, cards that are not legal in Brawl, or too many copies. Sort or group the list if you want it in a particular order on the sheet.
- Add your name, the event and the date, then download the PDF or copy a share link that reopens the filled sheet.
Frequently asked questions
How many cards does a Brawl deck need?
100 cards including the commander and no sideboard. Only one copy of each card other than basic lands is allowed. Decklist.gg counts the deck for you and flags copies over the limit.
Does a Brawl deck fit on one registration sheet?
Usually not. A 100-card singleton deck lists close to 100 different names and page 1 of the official sheet holds 40, so Decklist.gg continues the list onto page 2 (and page 3 if needed). Each extra page is marked and keeps its own fillable fields.
Does Decklist.gg check Brawl legality?
Yes. Every card is looked up in the Spellbinder card database and checked against the Brawl legality list, so banned and not-yet-legal cards are flagged before you print. Copy limits and the deck count are checked too; whether a card may legally be your commander is not.
Where does the commander go on the Brawl sheet?
At the top of the main deck list, so a judge sees it first. The sideboard section stays empty because the format has no sideboard.
